Private or group windsurfing and stand-up-paddle lessons

Northern California has some of the best conditions for windsurfing and stand-up-paddle boarding in the world. During the windsurfing season, as the sea breeze begins to build in the afternoons, I can be usually be found teaching at Crissy Field (under the Golden Gate Bridge), Candle Stick Park or Berkeley Marina. If you are interested in the warmer waters of the Sacramento River Delta, Sherman Island is the place to be for all ability levels. From the basic beginer to the most advanced level windsurfing and stand-up-paddle instruction, Sherman Island can deliver warm breeze and warm water from sun up to sun down.

About Jason Voss

I have been teaching windsurfing for over 15 years. From 1991 through 1998 I taught for ABK Sports Windsurfing Camps touring all over the country and Carribean teaching people of all skills. From their first day on the water to that next free-style trick.

Fall of 1998 was my first year participating in Windsurfing Magazine's "board and sail tests" in Maui. This was a job I couldn't say NO to, year after year testing all the new toys for the following season. While at the tests each year, I was one of three full-time pro-testers and the only on-site instructor for the guest-testers. During these test years, we broke all the industry records world wide for gear testing at the time. (And still hold the record at 186 boards and 76 different sail ranges in the last test we did) It's hard to believe, I helped test more equipment than anyone in the world including my idols (world's top pro windsurfers) that did R&D for their personal boards and the brands they worked with. This also began my relationship with the magazine as an Instructional Editor. I continue to write instructional articles for various national and international publications.
